How to Prepare
1
We don’t ask for much.
Stop exfoliating 48-72 hours before your appointment.
Stop shaving, using hair removal creams, or trimming 2-4 weeks beforehand, the ideal length of the hair is about as long as a grain of rice (1/4 in).
Avoid caffeine the day of and drink plenty of water.
Try to avoid scheduling the week before or after your period (You may be more sensitive during these times).
Breathe, you can do this.
What to Expect
2
We have to be honest, your first wax will be your worst.
Now, before you get spooked let us explain.
During your first wax the hair is typically in the final stage of growth. This means it is mature and more firmly set in place so it can be more resistant to waxing. It’s like removing something from glue that’s fully dry vs still tacky, one is much easier.
Slightly more painful, but a necessary step that will lead to less ingrowns, slower hair growth, and long term results.
Once you get through your first wax, everything becomes easier, quicker, and more effective.
Aftercare Do’s and Don’ts
3
Avoid excessive sweating, tight clothing, sex and swimming after your appointment for 48 hours. You can begin to exfoliate after 48 hours. Be sure to exfoliate 3-4x weekly and moisturize daily.
We will review all aftercare instructions and product suggestions in person at your appointment.

“I can’t share enough good things about Mel. She truly is a rare find in the industry. I’ve worked with her for the last two years, and my confidence has grown. Being a plus-sized girlie, I struggled with my comfort and waxing. She took her time and allowed me to try things at my own pace, which made me trust her immediately.”
— Alyssa P.“Never going back to shaving after getting my Brazilians done with Mel! She is the best and makes you feel super comfortable 😊 Highly recommend! Also looking forward to trying her other services in the future 🤗”

FAQ
FAQ
-
Unlike other hair removal methods (shaving, hair removal creams) waxing removes hair from the root instead of cutting the hair off at the surface.
-
We’d be lying if we said waxing didn’t have a little kick to it. But everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Just know, pain is temporary and you can do it!
And guess what? After your first wax it only gets easier.
-
Consistency is key. For the best results staying within the 3-6 week range for wax maintenance is recommended.
-
We don’t ask for much. Be sure hair is a minimum of ¼ inches in length (basically a grain of rice). You can exfoliate up to 48 hours before your appointment.
We recommend avoiding caffeine but we’re not judging if you can’t wait. Drink plenty of water!
-
Waxing removes hair at the root which over time weakens the follicle. This is what leads to slower regrowth and thinner hair.
